The LN-TM merger must now be in its ‘bargaining’ stage because the giveaways are starting.
According to the NYT, Live Nation may be offering to sell some buildings to AEG as a condition of merger approval from the DOJ.
A few weeks back, there was a story that Comcast may be ‘given’ the ticketing contracts for some LN venues or TM customers.
It occurred to me at the time that, “If I were AEG or MSG and Comcast wanted to do this [take on TM or LN business], and TM and LN both needed it to happen, I wouldn’t do this without asking for something.”
This may be that something.
And it’s also possible that this is in fact the quid pro quo for an upcoming arrangement with Comcast.
Or none of this could be true. Either way.
